Creating The Process has been a collaborative experience, with both our team and our clients working together to honor the magic that happens here. This space was born as a solution to our process as therapists and as an offering for our clients.

At The Process, our goal is to hold space for our providers and our clients. We want everyone here to feel at home, valued, and honored in their individual and collective journey. Our team holds shared core values grounded in inclusivity, anti-racism, equality, social justice, and trauma-informed care. We extend these values in our clinical work and our personal interactions with one another and our community. We currently offer therapy in English, Farsi, Spanish, French, Hindi, Indonesian & Portuguese.

What you’ll find here is a safe space to land, literally, figuratively, emotionally, and in the in-between.

Meet Dr. Sahar Martinez

A woman with shoulder-length dark hair, wearing a white short-sleeved top, navy blue high-waisted trousers, and gold necklaces, standing against a plain white wall, smiling with her hands in her pockets.

Therapist | speaker | supervisor

Dr. Sahar founded The Process in 2022 as a solution to the challenging path of finding inclusive, holistic mental healthcare in a warm and accessible environment. In her clinical work, Dr. Sahar utilizes Internal Family Systems, Somatic Attachment, and evidence-based modalities focused on the impact of the mind/body connection.

The Process Wellness Collective was formed when Dr. Sahar welcomed associates and pre-licensed therapists into her practice in 2021 in hopes to be able to support therapists in their path to licensure. She views the supervisor/supervisee relationship through a collaborative lens, which helped to create a space that allowed associates to establish their own businesses and provide a seamless transition for their clients as they moved into licensure. This supervision and business model created a perfect alignment of offering an exceptional level of care to clients while allowing associates to explore who they are as clinicians and how they embody their work.

In addition to her clinical and supervisory work, Dr. Sahar is a speaker, facilitator, and podcaster. When she’s not supporting her clients or her associates, you can usually find her somewhere in the sunshine with her two kids and her husband.

Some fun facts about us…

Two dogs resting on a tan sofa in front of a wall with abstract pink, beige, and brown shapes.

we’re pet friendly

You’ll often find dogs in the office, both ours and our clients! We believe in the healing power of pets and love our #processpups deeply!

Two women sitting on a wooden bench, laughing and sharing a joyful moment.

we’re all friends (for real!)

There’s something really special about going to the office only to be surrounded by your people — and we feel lucky that we get to do that every day! We value interpersonal relationships in our practice and actively work on fostering connections with each other both in and out of the office.

snacks are our love language

We take our snacks seriously at The Process. Whether it’s our monthly team meetings over Mendocino Farms, our office love affair with local coffee shops (we <3 you BLKDOT), or the curated snack baskets in every office, we LOVE snacks.

creativity is a core value

Several of our team explore creative endevors, such as music, art or writing, in addition to their work as a therapist. We believe in the value of holding a variety of identities in order to feel whole, both for ourselves and for our clients.
